More Mobile Considerations
Having seen and analysing visits from mobile devices, Facebook visits for example, I feel that I still need to work a bit more on my mobile layout.
On my original page I added the w3-top class to the mobile display. However, while this stays at top of the mobile screen it over-writes the Menu Icon.
Actually, the top bar on the "about" page does not over-write the menu icon. In fact I could make a version without this icon and make the bar into a button. This is in a similar manner to the bar on the "medium" screen that controls the expanding drop-down/pop-ups.
In addition, there is more to "Mobile Design" than just making the page render on a smaller screen just so that you can read it! Navigation and making the screen appealing are also very important.
The "Sticky" buttons help, although I haven't got the hiding working as it was before I re-defined the class. I now have both the Top and Menu button on a "medium" screen
The More Menu Options Button - The following has code that demonstrates the "More Menu Options" banner - DO NOT DELETE from source
I may also have to rethink this as I now think that this is more confusing that it helps.
A lot of all this is rather academic as I currently don't get a lot of hits from mobile users. However, I may do in the future so I need to experiment.
As Lovejoy, and possibly the Downton page, are popular I have tried a few things there. If these work out I may consider changing the main template.
This would also further deviate from the original "portfolio" design, but that is what evolution is all about!
