Google Analytics 4

Having been much impressed with Google Search Console I thought that I would give Analytics a go again. As I noted before much has happened since I last took a good look. Now we have GA 4 and the tracking code is cmpletely different to what I had before.

I am going to add the tracking code back to pages that I know get visits and then I cen re-valuate Analytics. I need to read the Google Help files as I don't quite understand the desiction between "Universal" and "Global"

Tracking Code

<script async src="https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-936952-6"></script>
<script>
  window.dataLayer = window.dataLayer || [];
  function gtag(){dataLayer.push(arguments);}
  gtag('js', new Date());

  gtag('config', 'UA-936952-6');
</script>

The reason (or one of the reasons) I dropped Google Analytics

When I was looking at cookie policy for website design I decided that I didn't need to use cookies
