Belchamp Walter in the Twentieth Century covers both World Wars and things were tough at times. Rather than the image portrayed in Downton 2 - "A New Era", things were very different here at that time. Life at the Hall may have been fine, due to the involvement with the Church, but things were pretty grim in the village in the earler years of the century. Many residents lives were lost in the two World Wars.
