Coode Belchamp Walter
I am confused, why are there burials in the cemetery of Belchamp Walter for members of the Coode family?
The burial register entry for Coode Henry Penrose Rushton, 1928 (record 33) records Henry as a retired army major.
Henry Coode died in 1938 and Mary Coode in 1946. Mary Coode has her place of death as Fioriston Hall, Wixoe.
Henry was the son of Rear-Admiral Charles Penrose Rushton Coode.
The find-a-grave website says:
The Coodes at Belchamp Hall
The Kelly Directory for 1914 lists Captain William Gibbs living at Belchamp House. There is no mention of the Coodes.
Henry Penrose Rushton Coode and Mary Constance are both buried in (burial #33) in Belchamp Walter cemetary. Charles 23 July 1928 and Mary 6 Dec 1946. It looks like that Henry and Mary resided at Belchamp Hall in 1928. The burial plot is not recorded but it is likely to be in the lower numbered plots and Henry and Mary maybe in the same grave.
The memorial and grave has been located in the parish council cemetery and the plot number is being investigated. There is a discrepancy between the layouts of plots that have been produced for the parish council.
