SERP - Search Engine Results Page

2023 - What is the relative merits of having an website that can be found making an Internet search? The majority of Web users are accesssing on their mobile devices and not likely to make a textual search for information.

Whether a web page is indexed by the Search Engines is a complex issue. The use of tools such a Search Console and Analytics can be invaluable tools. In addtion the pages should contain unique content and not just information that was copied from other sources. What I am trying to do now is to review my pages and add information to them to encourage visitors to look elsewhere on this website.

Why do people make searches?

Possibly to actually find information? or maybe information posted about themselves. It most cases it seems that most Internet users are loath to actully search for something unless it is within their own sphere of activity. A search, if made, is more likley to be for another user of their preferred Social Network.

There used to be a time where it was common to search for your own name on Google, I termed the description "narcisurfing". I was not alone, see link below. (Narcissurfing)

I seem to remember that when I searched for Belchamp Walter Craft Fair the text included tempusfugit.me.uk - it doesn't when I tried it when writing this.

Having removed some pages from this website, as requested, I now find that Micorosoft Bing (and others) create their own SERPs and I have little control over their content.
