The Local Names and Local History

Sadly this is an area that I have to withdraw.

My interest in local history and the posting of a few web pages on the subject has resulted in the attraction of those searching for names of local residents. This is because of the names used to make these searches.

In the "Social Media" age the emphasis seems to be looking for information that relates to people that you know. This could be celebrity or just someone you know of personally.

The result is that a search for a name that is local in nature will turn up pages on my website that are not related to the contemporary person or business. This just creates too much confusion, so I am withdrawing from this venture.

Update:

Having said that I had withdrawn from this activity and seeing how much work I have put into the projects covered by this website I have "censored" pages such that if a search for a local name is made that I don't want to appear in the results, that they don't.

Searches for Lovejoy continue to be popuar. These often prompt visits to pages that I have censored or reviewed and hence this page.
