Narcissism and Facebook

In my opinion Facebook is the epitome of narcissism. I am not alone in this theory.

In any case the concept of narcissism and Facebook is something that I do feel is a problem with society today. In addition to the other aspects of Social Media regarding privacy and the negative influences on those that are suseptable and have extreme views.

There are many references to this theory that can be found on the Internet if you make a search.

Facbook are not along in the field of narcissism other Social Media platform as just a culpable.

I am basing my opinion on observation of those that I see use Facebook more than I would deem as on a regular basis. A particular individual that I know posts to Facebook when she wants those that follow her to boost her ego. This pattern of behaviour has been observed over a number of years. It is further highlighted by the fact that her immediate family, who are also Facebook users, do not post in the same way and often merely "like" and "love" her posts.

There have been exchanges with this person regarding the use of Facebook and she knows exactly how I feel.

I realise that the person in question is not going to read this page and if they do they are not likely to respond to it. There are many "issues" that this person has with us and I really don't think that they will change or acknowledge their dilemma.
