The flow of my History pages

Having looked at this website with a view that I was a visitor who had found the site by making a search I still find that I have trouble in finding information.

Seeing as I have used the work of Thomas Wright and his history of Essex as a starting point for both Belchamp Walter and the surrounding area I am now starting to fill in some of the blanks. Having attempted to get the layout of pages correct I failed to follow-up on the muliple names that he quotss for all of the villages.

The early histories of the 12th and 13th centuries is paricularly difficult to follow for an individual village but as a whole there are common themes that connect the various regions of North Essex. The fame and fortunes of the de Veres and the relationship to other important families such as the de Beauchamps.

Events from the 12th and 13th Centuries

Thomas Wright often makes reference to a Treaty or Constitution in regard to the change in stewardship of an area.

An example:

These co-heiresses and their husbands, or joint heirs, upon paying their compositions, in pursuance of the "Dictum of Kenelworth," J(oan) had livery of the barony of Bedford, and the great estates which belonged to them, and, in 1278, on the death of Avicia, widow of William Beauchamp, of Bedford, a partition was made between these co-heiresses.

The significance of "paying their compostions in pursuance of the Dictum of Kenelworth" needs to be explained. Other examples are:
