Social Media Integration

The integration of links to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and other social network platforms is an important feature that you may wish to do for your website.

The first thing that you may wish to do is to introduce a "Social Button" on your pages.

The reason that the Parish Council and Village Hall websites get little or no traffic is that they have no Social Media Integration. Today this is pretty much a necessity for a website to be successful.

To achieve this a website administration team needs someone whose job is to be in charge of Social Media activity and linkages. If you search for "Social Media Integration" you will find many ways to do this. Many will involve an investment of some type. i.e. you will have to pay for it!

The posting of advertisng flyers on Facebook is something that has been pursued. This was part of the Craft Fair Project

Why this is so important

Although I don't like it, it is a fact of life. The only way to attract interest to your venture is to use Social Media.

Why I can't do this

I am a Social Media Observer and not a user. The person in charge of Social Media Integration HAS to be a Social Media user.

This is key for the success of the group.

Once the Social Media accounts have been setup they should be used to "point" at specific activities on the Website. Events and fund-raising efforts. Communication can be made via the Social accounts

Doing something clever on Social Media

The first thing to realise that there is a fundamental difference between an eCommerce website and a Community website. Both can benefit from Social Media but in far different ways.

Facebook, which is let's face it IS Social Media, offer an array of tools for the webmaster to integrate Facebook into websites. Many of these are WAY beyond the scope and needs of the Friends group. However, some of the techniques that are applcable to sites where a product is sold

Generating "buzz" on other "Social" platforms and the use of Infuencers are all part of what can be "clever".
