James O'Brien seems to think that this explains the doffing of caps and tugging of forelocks he so fondly referrs.
8 July 2026 - I feel that there is more of a measure of Tipping Caps and Tugging Forelocks going on in the village. Just because you own a big house, own lots of land and your family have lived for over 400 years in a community does not mean that you have to do so. Sadly, many residents of Belchamp Walter adopt this attitude.
