SQL - Structured Query Language

The more and more I look at the body of work that is the W3C Schools, the more I am impressed.

I am not saying that they are the "oracle" (pun not intended) but they seem to have a lot of bases covered. SQL is just another case in question.

What W3C Schools say:

" SQL is a standard language for storing, manipulating and retrieving data in databases.

Our SQL tutorial will teach you how to use SQL in: MySQL, SQL Server, MS Access, Oracle, Sybase, Informix, Postgres, and other database systems. "

My interest in this was that I hd previously had a general interest in programming and migrated into database stuff. I was initially interested in dbase, as this was what I had read was the new best thing (Ashton Tate) and then Borland Delphi, Paradox and FoxPro.
