phpMyAdmin

phpMyAdmin is a ultility written in PHP that is commonly offered by web-hosting services as part of their package. A hosting package often comes with one or more mySQL databases as standard. I think the reason for this is that many websites are configured using Wordpress or another CMS. I know from my own experiences that Wordpress is both PHP-centric and the code and data is stored in a database. As mySQL is the most common online database it stands to reason that other CMS' will also use Oracle mySQL.

A database is something that can be a great resource for a website desgn and implementation. As a programmer that is a certified SAP ABAP professional I can appreciate the value.

At the presnt time I am not really using the power of the databases that I have at my disposal.

Trouble-shooting a Wordpress website

This would be quite an advanced technique as mist Wordpress users are kept well away from the databases. On the other hand those that would like to compromise you Wordpress site would be all too interested in the configuration tables that would contain all your User info, IDs and passwords.

Access to the configuration files of Wordpress would be a coup for a hacker.
