Seeing visits to pages that don't result in visits to other pages I have to conclude that a reason may well be that the visitor clicked on an external link.

Apart from the fact that this could be seen as just the presentation of a "Gateway Page" this has never been my intention. The external links are primarily there for my own use so that I can see what my sources are for the page. In addition, this should also provide the visitor some useful background.

However, in many cases this it does look like the visitor just "moves on". Possibly not finding what they were looking for but never-the-less not bothering to look further on this website.

What Google say
