The Freer Tree

The family tree of The Descendants of William the Conqueror.

Alan has a lot of information on his website and sometimes it is not easy to find what you are looking for. For example, I found his page that lists the family members of the Raymond family but I found it using a regular Internet search.

He does have a "Geneology" index page but it is not linked from his home page. To get there you have to return from one of the other sub-pages.

What Alan says on his Index/Search page:

As Alan says he is approaching the Family Tree by starting at the top, i.e. William I and then working his woay down. This is in stark contrast to taking your own family name and then trying to build a tree that (hopefully I guess) leads to somebody famous.

The Freer Tree and its multiple and related tables and trees can be accessed from many other pages on tempusfugit.me.uk. I have tended to only use it for the Raymond family but I have also found that it is quite good to follow the early part of English monarchy from the Conqueror to at least the Edwards.

After Edward III the Freer Tree becomes less helpful although I was able to trace the Raymonds through the Harris' to the Percy Family (Northumberland)
