A review of local pages
If you have found this page it was probably from a link that needs to be removed.
As I have been adding a lot more information on my History and Local pages I have been reviewing how they can be navigated on a mobile device. I view to how the pages are interpreted by the visitor is also being reviewed.
For example, having an "About" link on a page that points back to a technical page when the visitor has found a History or Local page is only going to confuse and also be of no interest to them. So they are being removed.
Stalking
When I started out on this venture I was taking a lot of my information from that which I found in the church. The consequence of which is the use of a certain family name on many of my pages. This could, and may have been, seen as stalking.
As I now have much more information on the village in general I can now add back some of the pages that I had modified.
Using a mobile phone I am trying to make sure that I can at least find certain topics. As the site access, if any, it is more likely to be from a mobile phone. The enhancement to the "More" menus are proving to be useful but I need to edit them considerably.
As I have pretty much transcribed the Burial Register the 1851 census and the Belchamp Walter Roll of Honour and the War Memorial there is more for those that are interested in the village to find in the rare case that they make an Internet search.
The village and regions history with respect to the Norman Conquest and Domesday also need to be easily found. My use of images from the Bayeux Tapestry also
The Griffin/Dragon. The 1634 Visitations says Dragon as well!
The relationship between the de Veres and William I, William Rufus and the Popes - Curthose and the first crusade. Bishop Odo and Robert Curthose - Roger de Mowbray and the revolt in 1095 taking back the lands of Vexin and Maine in Normandy.
The corruption of historical data and the migration of platforms such as Rootsweb in Ancestry only goes to further the inacuracies and " wishful thinking" that currently exists in the GEDCOM database.
