The Branding of a website or service
The subject of Branding became something I was interested in due my participation in the "Friends" Project and the re-branding of Facebook under the Meta brand.
The reasons for re-branding can be diverse, in the case of Mark Zuckerburg I think it was a case of the mitigation of the toxicity of Facebook and the fact there is more to his operations than just Social Media, the Metaverse. The Friends, the name "The Friends of St. Mary, Belchamp Walter" was too long and FOBWC was easier to refer. In my case, due to the diverse nature of the subject matter on this website, the Tempusfugit Web Design label may give the casula visitor the wrong impression when they come accross one of my pages.
If a visitor finds a page related to design or administration then they can look to see what TFWD means. If it is another page then they will not make the assumption, this is web design website and I am not interested in that approach to what I am trying to find out information. In addition, individual pages can have custom menus and labels.
Having a product
If I can get the payment gateway to work I wouldn't mind having a product to sell. This could be a web design service or an actual physical product (candles????). However, this would mean that I would have to establish a business. That would mean tax and the other implications involved.
In the meantime there is the Friends project. Should it be decided that a "donation" function need be established or even a means to pay online for events, the ability to process payments would be good. The Wordpress.com offering was the reason that I started looking at this in more detail. The Wordpress solution seems to be too tied to the Wordpress interface, as such I would rather stay away.
The Stripe "checkout" looks like just the job
I think that I have gone as faras I can with my foray into Stripe as my "Connection" now depends on providing infomation about my non-existant business.
