The filming of the TV series Lovejoy at Belchamp Walter

Fans of the popular TV show Lovejoy will find much to see if there they visit Belchamp Walter. Belchamp Hall was a major filming location as Felsham Hall. Lovejoy's Studio (Workshop) is the former stable block for Belchamp Hall and now is a holiday rental.

The Church of St. Mary the Virgin, Belchamp Walter, featured in the last episode of Lovejoy "Last Tango in Lavenham". The episode starred Phylis Logan (Mrs Hughes of Downton Abbey fame - Elsie Carson )

Lady Jane Felsham, who returned to attend the abortive marriage of Lovejoy to Charlotte Cavendish (Caroline Langrishe). The final scene has Lovejoy flying over the church in a helicopter as he is abducted for his final "shady deal".

Recent Filming

The May 2021 filming at Belchamp Hall and St. Mary's Church is NOT a new series of Lovejoy. It was Downton - A New Era.
