Lovejoy Filming Locations
The TV series Lovejoy was filmed in the general East Anglia region and
most centrally Belchamp Walter.
Belchamp Hall was used as Felsham Hall the home of Lady Jane Felsham
about whom the earlier episodes revolve.
There are many places on the Internet that will document the locations and tie them to specific episodes. I do not wish to compete here but to give some background on what was filmed here in Belchamp Walter.
Last Tango in Lavenham
As far as I know this was not filmed in Lavenham. Lavenham is close to Belchamp Walter and well worth a visit. It is over the border in Suffolk and not far from Long Melford (another filming location and where some of the crew stayed when they were filming).
Film Location
Belchamp Hall and the Church of St. Mary's Belchamp Walter have been the location for the filming of a major UK period drama, May 2021.
Belchamp Hall was a location for the filming of the TV series Lovejoy. The May 2021 filming was nothing to do with a remake of Lovejoy.
Other Locations
There are many locations that the Lovejoy crew filmed. Belchamp Walter was just one. Halsted, the watermill (now an antique centre) and the Bull pub - Coggeshall - Long Melford - Preston St. Mary (Priory Farm was Charlotte Cavendish's antique shop) and Lavenham.
Google My Maps
Having established that searches for "Where was Lovejoy filmed" find this website I was wondering if others have found this Google My Maps custom map for Lovejoy. I must admit that I don't really know where and how I came across it. Taking another look I see that the contact email is lovejoymap7@gmail.com, I don't know who this is and I recognise that they have put a lot of work into this map.
I am not trying to compete with this map and find that it is not always easy to use unless you are very familiarwith Google Maps. I use Google maps on a daily basis and use it to navigate. My observation is that others do not! For navigation the preferred method is a Sat Nav and when it comes to finding things on the Internet Social Media is king!
I do have a link to this map but I have decided that it is not appropriate to have it on this page.
