Wordpress User Verification

When looking at emails sent by the Wordpress Contact form block I notice that the last line in the email is:
"Sent by a verified WordPress.com user"
or "Sent by a unverified visitor to your site".

This was seen when I was trying to work out why a message was sent from a form on the village hall website that was presumably moved to trash.

The Wordpress Support page for the User Verification Plugin says:

The “User Verification” has a feature to automatically delete unverified users after a (configurable) period if not verified. You may want to enable that to automatically weed out spam registrations that are never going to be verified.

I had not come across this before and as far as I know it has not been installed on the VH WP site.

Protect your website from spam user and stop instant access by using spam email address, by this plugin user will need to verify their email before login to your website.
