Modals
There are two examples of the timed modal on this page.
The code for the modal display and the $( document ).ready() construct - the jQuery library changes the hyperlink here (so I have made the link blue).
4 June 2026 - Added some notes
Observered a visit to my donations page for the friends - this could just be a coincidence but it got me to look at modals again. The use of QR codes also needs to be reviewed.
Even More Timed Shim
A third attempt at getting it right!
First Timed Modal
Second Time Modal
I would like the close button on the top right
At the present the modal uses Bootstrap and jQuery. Bootstrap alters some of the display
apperance of hyperlinks and I need jQuery to get the timing functionality.
I need to expand my coding to set values in the modal - see the code on this page.
I would like to set the timeout programatically
I need to understand the jQuery $( document ).ready() construct

My attempt at getting two timed shims to work on the same page was going around in circles. I see to
have my syntax mangled and I can one or the other to work, whereas my first attempt with a hyperlink
and a button seems to work.
Again I copied the code from the working hyperlink example.
data-toggle="modal"
This now seems to work. All I need now is to work out how to setAttributes in the modals
The use of the Timed Modal
Actually, it doesn't really matter that there is much information for the visitor displayed on the
dialog. The main reason is to show that there is a link that I have found when researching the page.
The use of Bootstrap and jQuery has little impact on the mobile display.
