What I think about Social Media
I do not think that Social Media is a force for good.
Here are some links to previous pages that I have ranted on about how I think that society to today has degenerated into the state that it is today.
It is also important that the pages on this topic are viewable in a manner on a mobile phone so that they can be read. This is due to the fact that these pages are really aimed at those that access the Internet using this method.
I have a number of pages using my old template (but using the W3 Framework) which need to be converted to this new format. These pages include my page on Richard Mann and the Thatching fiasco and my observations from a hospital bed where I was in the position that most Internet users are in. i.e. accessing the Internet using a mobile phone only.
In any cases it is pointless to create pages that look good on a computer but are not compelling to follow on a mobile phone. While I make no claims to creating compelling content I have observered that I am unlikely to get on the radar of the majority of users that I have a major problem.
I don't expect to convince those that I critisise or to even show them the error of their ways and get them to change their ways.
Social Media Integration
While I maintain my views on Social Media I recognise that it is is very much part of most peoples lives. As such, it is essential that it be integrated into a "regular" website.
User Generated Content
This seems to be the bain of Social Media. The emphasis is allowing users of a particular portal to comment on the article or post seems to be the main driver.
When User Generated Content is entered then there is an oppotunity to "notify" the user of the Socail Media portal and to allow the display of commercial information.
Once again, it is a little dismaying that the Internet has developed into a gigantic "Bean Feast". In which any situation or news item is used in an attempt to make a "quick buck".
