Menu Adding Media to webpages

Photos and videos

Many of my pages have these added and I have evolved some techniques over the years. At first it seems simple, but the formating and scaling of the images is key here. The use of a Framework is often helpful here.

HTML 5 has its own tag to add video to a web page. I have experimented with this. In most cases the use of a third party solution such as YouTube is probably the most popular. The reasons for this are probably due to the familiarity of YouTube and that there is a wide useage of the platform in other areas. In many cases YouTube is the first place that an Internet user will go to find out how to do something.

I added a couple of YouTube videos to the Parish Council website, but they have been removed as they were not being visited. Still, I did work out how to do this.

On the subject of the Parish Council and Village Hall websites most of the media that I had added has been scaled back. The subscription to Wordpress has expired and although the site is still live as a "free" site (the domain mapping does not work!) the potential of a location scout to find pictures of the village are no longer there.
