Belchamp Walter - The Helion Years
1437-1448
Having pursued research based on the work of Thomas Wright, the connection to the Helion family and their involvment in the history of Belchamp Walter, I have finally found a connection that makes some sense.
Newcourts' Repertorium shows:
Edith Greene and Edith Greene - Rolfe
This Rofle-Green period lay between the Helion and Wentworth Years.
According to Wikitree:
The Monarchy
The 15th Century has the following monarchs:
- Henry IV - 1399-1413
- Henry V - 1413-1422
- Henry VI - 1422-1461 and 1470-1471
- Edward V - Reign: 9 April - 25 June 1483
- Richard III - 1483-1485
- Henry VII - 1485 - 1509
According to Newcourt the Advowsen was held by John Helion from 1437 to 1448, which would be in the reign of Henry VI. It is not known who held the Advowsen for Belchamp Walter from 1431 to 1437. Swynbourne held it between 1391-1431 and Botetourt before 1391.
It is also not known who held the Advowsen after Helion until 1497 when Newcourt observes that it was held by Edith Green (Rolfe).
If we take the Newcourt dates the Helion Years are relatively short in terms of the century, only 9 years. Other families may have been influencial over this time.
