The confusion in forwarding email
The use of a simple forwarding of email from a domain hosting is really simple and effective. However, its use can be confusing to those that are not familiar with how mail works.
I have been using email forwarding for a number of years and there have been only minor problems with doing so. Now that the useage of email is becoming less popular in the age of instant/text messaging and Social Media there are those that are easily confused by this forwarding. If an email is recieved from a Gmail account but you want to use your personalised address on your domain the recipient may be confused as to what your actual email is.
Gmail
The use of Google's Gmail is a case in point and the source my own personal experiences. The same could also be said of other email platforms but Gmail is very popular. Gmail offer the setting to "Send email as:" option where you can use the SMTP server of your Domain to send email.
The confusion arises when a recipient gets an email from you that appears to come from you under-lying Gmail account even though you have given them your address at your domain.
I have tried to configure this option but I am currently of the opinion that there is a problem with this setting in Gmail.
