Botetourt Research

In my page of Sir John Botetourt and related pages I have a many links that are commented out on the pages

A lot of the references are from geni.com and I get the impression that they are fast being edited out as, like this website they only serve to allow the visitor to leave the geni.com website.

Family trees and the average researcher

In some respects the research into the medieval history of the region was started by looking into the Botetourt family. The significance of the remains of the chantry chapel is not easy to overlook.

The links that I have found in the geni.com and the FMG sites, some of which point to archive.org records are somewhat of secondry interest to the average family tree researcher. It could be for this reason that a lot remained in the notes of the profiles.

Update

This was before I developed the technique of shimming the external links.

diem clauserunt extremum - meaning

With respect to a writ in an Inquistion Post Mortem - "closed the last day". This was seen in a writ relating to Sir John de Botetourt and the fact that he was "governor" of St. Briavells Castle.
