Coding your own Blog

This is a lot of work, especially when there are many platforms you can use to do this.

The interface is the easy part and there are pleanty of templates available the data for posts and comments need to be stored in a database. mySQL is probably the database used by most blogging services.

Google Blogger

Like so many things, Blogger has been "improved". I was a user of Blogger in the past, but I think that it has "jumped the shark". In a similar way to Facebook the browser interface has been changed over the last few months. Not that either were any good to start with but that is not the main reason why they suck.
