The restrictions of Windows in 2022/23
After many updates Microsoft have managed to make their operating systems of limited use in mu opinion. They will claim that they have made the equipment that has Windows installed "safer" in these ever increasing cyber-centric world.
While this may well be the case for many Windows users who are content in using their computers for regular activities such as basic communication and documentation, those that wish to do more and have a choice of what software they wish to run are now having a hard time. The move for low-end equipment to have a version that can only run apps and programs from the Microsoft Store, Windows 10S and Windows in S-Mode, have caused much confusion for those that wanted to run reasonably desired programs such as Zoom.
March 2022 sees the updates of older Windows 10 computers that formerly ran programs such as Bittorrent unable to do so. Windows Security has been changed so that many programs are now blocked on all fronts.

I originally posted about the installation of Zoom on a new Windows 10S that I had purchased in March 2021. I was not trying to install Zoom myself but I was seeing those that were having problems in doing so.
I was concerned that I was unable to install the software that I use to maintain this website and I ended up switching this new computer out of S-Mode. This allowed me to install the software that I required but restricted me with respect to downloading that I have been doing on my old computer.
Bittorrent and Downloading torrent files
This was my main area of contention. I gave the quest of getting this to work as I had an older computer at my disposal for my downloading needs. This was a Microsoft Surface, which up to March 2022, allowed the installation and running of the Bittorrent torrenting client.
