The Parish Council Website on EssexInfo.net
The Parish Council website was "thrown together" using the resources made available from essexinfo.net - It was launched as a legal requirement to facilitate the public publication of the Parish Council activities, the meetings, minutes and agendas.
The design of the Parish Council site is hampered by the limitations of the Content Management System (CMS) used by essexinfo.net - if the site were hosted on its own domain and pages designed without a CMS and uploaded directly to a hosting service, I think, it would be a lot better.
CMS - Content Management Systems
I am not a big fan of CMS, the package used by essexinfo.net is a good example of why.
Developing your own style
Along with a webmaster that has the enthusiasm to keep the site up-to-date I believe that a unique style needs to be developed for a site to be successful. This is why I don't really want my template to be used in such a venture. A new venture would require the development of a new style.
The process of implementation
Actually, this is not difficult, but you need to know what you are doing. I guess this is the same about most things in life. In short, all you have to do is to register a domain name, find a server (service) to host it and then upload files to it. The main problem, as I see it, is that there are to many that offer ways to do it for you. The design of the website itself is the "hard" bit, and that is the key to its success.
The Village Hall needs its own dedicated website
Trying to get the Parish Council site, free using essexinfo.net, and events for the Village hall does not work in my opinion.
