What are the viabilities in installing a Heat Pump

and is it only worthwhile if you also have Solar Panels

January 2026 - there is a lot about heat pumps and electricity tarifs in the news. My prediction is that this is only the start of the discussion.

If you search for any information on this subject, in keeping with many other things on the Internet, you will find most of the responses you will find are from those that want to sell you a solution and make money out of the venture.

Another contention that I make is that a heat pump is only going to make sense if you combine it with another source of renewable (or even just a renewable resource) energy such a Photo Voltaics it is never going to be that cheap. Of course, when fossil fuels run out, or get too expensive, and that doesn't seem to be any time soon, then these alternative energy solutions will be the only way to go.

There are many sources of factual information on renewable energy and I will try a make a "crib-sheet" of them.
