Python the programming language
I seem to remember playing around with Python when I had a LAMP server.
Python is not Linux-based; it is a cross-platform programming language that runs on Linux, Windows, macOS, and other operating systems.
Python is a high-level, interpreted programming language that is designed to be portable and versatile, meaning it can run on multiple operating systems without being tied to any single one.
. While Python is heavily integrated into Linux—with most Linux distributions coming with Python pre-installed and many system tools and package managers written in Python—it is not exclusive to Linux.
Python can also be installed and run on Windows, macOS, and Unix-like systems, making it a truly cross-platform language

Python has become one of the most popular programming languages in the world, and Linux is a widely used open-source operating system. Combining Python with Linux offers a powerful and flexible environment for various tasks, from system administration and data analysis to web development and automation. With Python 3.14 now available and experimental features like just-in-time (JIT) compilation and free-threaded execution maturing rapidly, the Python-on-Linux ecosystem continues to evolve. This guide provides a detailed overview of Python on Linux, covering fundamental concepts, installation, usage methods, common practices, and best practices.
Python
Python is one of the languages that can be used for server-side processing as an alternative to PHP.
Having experimented with Python on my LAMP server I am not quite sure how this fits as an alternative to PHP.
The "P" in LAMP can stand for PHP, Perl or Python. I ahve run some Perl scripts
