Munt Park
Munt Park is a personal project. It is situated in the valley that is Belchamp Brook. The mill situated south of Belchamp Hall took its water source from the brook that rises in the Yeldhams, Essex and flows into the river Stour near Sudbury in Suffolk.
A gallery is coming soon.................
The scope of the project
First of all the area was almost completely wild when I started. Most of the garden was covered in nettles, fallen trees and Gunnera. Due to the dense coverage it was impenatrable for the large part as the nettles were often 6-8ft high and entwined with fallen branches. The ground was not open to air and quite wet due to the lack of sunlight. Clearing the "brush" was the first step.
It was surprising how much grass there was under the "wild" cover. A Blackthorn thicket was also cleared and there was even grass there as well.
The Lawns
There are 6 lawn areas including the main lawn, the orchard, 3 middle and the back lawn.
