Who lived in the medieval Manor House at Belchamp Hall?

The structure that exisited in Belchamp Walter at what is now the Queen Anne Belchamp Hall is not well documented.
Who lived there is also in question.

The information sheet that can be found in the Church of St. Mary the Virgin says that Sir John Botetourt "occupied the Manor as underlord of the de Veres"

This unlikely to have been the case even though Sir John had a chantry chapel built on the North wall of St. Mary's church. Sir John died in 1324 and the nave and chapel were built around that time extending the small chapel that now forms the chancel of the Church.
