Creating a narative
With the advent of Artificial Intelligence and the existance of many geneological (family tree) offerings there is a big potential that things get fabricted.
However, this is not a new phenomina - the technology has changed from the 19th century when those that could afford it and thought that they were important could pay The Marquis of Ruvigny and Raineval to create a manuscript with family trees to relate your family back to Edward III.
Why Edward III and not before it is not known. I guess the Internet and Wikipedia didn't yet exist and you would have to access to books!
Why Plantagenet Roll? - The Plantagenet Roll of the Blood Royal has a preface dated 31 January 1911, there must have been a desire to relate to the past by those that could afford it.
It seems that you could have a customised copy of The Plantagenet Roll of the Blood Royal with a special insert with the connection of your own family tree in relation to Edward III. This was originally found when I was researching Samuel Millbank Raymond and then I found a copy of the Roll for: Arthur William Vaisey, Esq.
