The Levell Family

There was a military funeral at Walter Belchamp of Private Arthur Levell aged 39 years, of the depot of
Suffolk Regiment, the remains were interred in the churchyard with full military honours on Monday
afternoon by permission of Major Brett, commanding officer of the depot. Colour Sergeant Britton and
Sergeant Fordham with some of the deceased's old comrades acted as bearers. Drummer Alcock sounded the
last post. Deceased served 18 years in the army, 10 in India. He became ill and went on sick furlough,
he expired on December 20th. His death was attributed to bronchitis and pneumonia.
