Fixed Bottom Menu

This page is an old page and it is only on the server to illustrate how the old fixed bottom menu responds when viewed on a mobile device.

The W3C Schools "Responsive Bottom Nav" seemed to be a good place to start if you want to analyse the code.

What I think

The responsive code is contained on this page - will have to see how it plays with my main css.

The css adds considerably to my template files. Needs visitor to have scripting turned on (but some of the other menus on W3C probably do as well)

Seems to work well. I think that I will leave as is for the moment before I play with colours. I may try a few others. I will have to save this page with new name and use "more_menu" as a directory of other examples.

I quite like the face that the menu is displayed all the time and it is out of the way at the bottom of the screen. In a Smartphone usage this is good as it allows the maximum of space on the screen for things that you want your visitors to see on the page. Menu items that are not as important are hidden and when the "hamburger" icon is clicked there is lots of space for items. Also the "Related Pages/Links" item is easier to find.

I fact I think that I prefer this design to the all singing-all-dancing Master Responsive Design. This menu with the accordian expading sections seems to be a way to go. I also quite like the way that the side menu looks on the Smartphone.
