Double Glazing a listed building

Living in a Grade II listed building with no double glazing prompted the quest for whether this is possible. In Belchamp Walter, Essex, there are two listed buildings that date from the 15th century. One is double-glazed, Hopkins Farm and the other, Munt Cottage, is not.

Making an intial search it revealed that the general consensus is that while not impossible it is very difficult to get the planning authorities to agree to this being done.
