A crib on the future of AI

Having looked at some of the links relating to APT33, the Iranian associated group who create various web malware, I came across MEI.edu

I am not sure if I have a lot to add here but I do need to lookup many of the terms that are being banded about the news of late.

While this page started out about Trump there are a lot of other things here such as Anthropic and the vast investment in data centres and semiconductors (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nvidia Nvidia)

Where AI fits into the general landscape and whether it is going to "take over the world" remains to be seen. Certainly it is a business oppertunity and that is probably why Trump and the American, Chinese and the Gulf States are interested in it. Bombing and threatening Iran does not seem to helped the cause here.

The development of AI and Data Centres is reported as being very energy intensive and I am not sure how this fits with environmental concerns. The development of renewable power sources and the moving away from fossil fuels could be another reason that the Gulf States are interested here. At sometime the oil is going to run out, or it will be too difficult to get your hands on!
