As I am still working out what I was going to do with the "hiding" techniques I have added the trapping of the "s" keystroke to display the link to the National Library of Scotland as this is one of the prime reasons that I don't want to have such a "live" link on the page.

There are multiple reasons for not having the link to the NLS website. Apart from the fact that the visitor will be taken away from this website the NLS interface is likely to confuse anyone I direct there and they will not be able to work out a way to get back to tempusfugit.me.uk even if they wanted too. The NLS websiter "breaks" the back button and even a zoom or repositioning of the map will mess up the browser history.
