Searching within a Table

This page relates to the coding of the webpage - NOT the searching of the table as it presents on the page to the visitor.

When adding data to an HTML table and then checking that the names entered could be found making a local search of the source code, I find that I need to place a space before the name in the table data.

Searching the webpage

On pages that contain large tables you may want to search that table for a name or date. To do this many (all current) web browsers have a facility to search a page for text that is contained on the displayed page.

This is a different search to the search that searches the whole website or even the Internet itself. Many websites have abandoned searches and now rely on Google and other search engines to allow their visitors to find their pages and content.
