Henry 5th Reign: 1413-1422

Henry the Fifth rose to the English throne in 1413. The purpose of this page is draw a perscpective on what was happening in Belchamp Walter and East Anglia at the time.

On first observation it seems that Henry spent most of his reign fighting with the French. Henry's reign was to 1422 and his son Henry VI succeeded him until 1471 (1422 - 1561 and 1470 - 1471). Edward IV's first reign in the middle of this period.

Untangling the War of the Roses is bad enough Sir Thomas Montgomory married Phillpe Helion in 1460, although this is after Henry 5's reign, there must have been repercussions in the fate of the region.

Henry V was of the Lancastrian family of the War of the Roses. He was the son of Henry IV.

Battle of Agincourt - 25 October 1415

This was just 2 years after Henry became King.
