Crawled - currently not indexed
One of the aspects of using Google Search Console is that it gives me an insight into some of the questions that people who are actually employed writing code for websites and getting them to be indexed by Google (and other search engines). The question "Why am I seeing Crawled - currently not indexed" in my GSC Coverage reports.
My take on this
I get the feeling that this is a GSC behaviour that is not necessarily an indication of a problem or an error on your page but rather a consequence of how Google generates their reports. The reason that I say this is that I have seen other things reported in the GSC reports that I know are not exactly correct. Chris Long (see link below) gives some clues on what could be the reasons, I think that it may be just a question of being patient with Google and waiting for the reports to "catch-up" with the changes that I am making to my code.
This is similar to pages that are reported as having redirects and those that I know I have not declared canonical.
One of the reasons that Cris suggests that page was not indexed is: "Thin on content". In some cases this may be the reason and I am currently taking this under advisement. I am not a business after all.
