Wordpress Google Calendar
Having looked at this in the past I now see that wordpress.co have a "block" that allows its users to embed a Google calendar.
The biggest problem with having an Events Calendar on your website is having events to put in it!
The Village Hall Calendar
At first I was impressed that the person running the Village Hall website had worked out how to do this and then I found that it was just a "block" in the Block Editor.
What the Wordpress.com help says:
It is not clear what Google account name is being exposed here and to whom. As I cannot see it on the Village Hall website and although I know who's calendar it is, all I can see is a reference number in the URL.
Limitations
The embedded Google Calendar still needs to be updated on the Google account of the person who is sharing their calendar. Any mistakes that they make on their account will be reflected on the Wordpress site.
If there are few users, or users that don't provide feedback to the webmaster, these errors and omissions will be there for the whole world to see. There is also an importance that the calendar reflects the same dates as any posters or promotions of events posted on other pages on the site. An example of this as a breakfast event that on the calendar shows the 22nd December and the flyer the 29th.
