Wordpress Export
The Wordpress.com user interface has a facility to display the feedback from the data entered into all the forms on the website.
This data can be exported and it is useful to document the activity of the website.
The data is exported as a Comma Seperated Value file - .csv ---- This file can be opened in Microsoft Excel and other software.
This is one of the better features of Wordpress and I think could be the compelling reason for you to use Wordpress.
The feedback data that was logged for the Village Hall website was downloaded and there were many email addresses contained in it. This included Sparky Ellis' contact details.
GDPR
There is email and other contact information contained in the file 2020-02-21-feedback-export.csv
If you are following the rules relating to the retention of data this file really needs to be purged. If downloaded it should be stored on a password protected device or server.
Why you would want to export your data
The admincolumns.com website explains this, however, you have to bear in mind that they want to sell you a plugin to do this!
I started this as I was interested in keeping a record of what happened on a site up until I reliquished the control of the site to a new admin. Email addresses of those that had sent messages to the website and those that had booked events were all stored in the logs that are kept automatically by Wordpress.
