Timeline Logic

Having spent a large time of my life over-complicating things, for my self and also paid by others to do so, I am trying to develop a simple way of showing what was going on in history at the same time as a particular aspect that I am trying to explain or understand.

The idea is to have a page with dates of significance in English and possibly world history that is grouped by century. The problem that I see with a lot of geneogical websites is that things revolve around a tree structure. While this good to illustrate who is related to whom, the concept of timescale is often lost.

I am attempting not to over complicate the page with back or side links.

Example

Sir John Botetourt was interred in the Belchamp Walter church chantry chapel.

The example shows that this happend under the reign of Edward II and 2 years before Edward III becomes king.

A backlink or a sidelink could be to Edward III, my page or back to the Timeline.
