This website is a demonstation of a Simple Responsive solution for a "web presence"
Over the years I have attempted to design a simple and easy to use interface that I hope is intutative for the visitor.
If you like what you see and think that I can help you design and run your own website please feel free to contact me.
This site changes as I see requirements developing, I would be grateful of any suggestions.
Navigation
My page layout and overall design has been a constant evolution. I started off with:
Each page having a common header, footer and a simple menu. The intention is to provide a simple clean interface that is not cluttered and allows the visitor to find what they were looking for, hopefully the reason for finding this site.
The header tells the visitor what site they are looking at.
The footer has two main elements, the name tempusfugit.me.uk when clicked will take you to a Site Map. The date and time not only gives the exact time that the page was last modified, when clicked it will take the visitor to the top of the page. You will see the page menu at the top of the page.
The top and side menus on pages have been purposely kept short. For a better way of location specific information the visitor is encouraged to visit my Site Map.
The overall design is responsive, i.e. it changes rendering dependant on the viewers device and screen size.
Links to external websites
These links will have the 🔗 symbol and have the rel="nofollow" attribute in the anchor tag to prevent Page Rank being given away.
Recent Enhancements
I have added a responsive bottom menu to my template and to pages that I access the most. Older pages will not have this menu. The bottom menu will be visible at all times when the page is viewed on a large screen. On a Smartphone, as the menu is completely different and dissappears when the visitor scrolls down the page, it provides a quick way of returning to the top of the page, the Home Page or the Site Map page.
In keeping with my new phylosophy the bottom menu is different depending on the content. For pages where the Site Map is a feature that may well be the most relevant it is the first item and "in focus". There is no need for a "Home" menu item on the bottom menu as this will always be on the Main Menu. In cases where there is a lot of content on a page the moat relevant could be a quick way to get back to the top of the page.
